Milrinone is used in the treatment of Heart failure.
USES :
Milrinone is a vasodilator. It increases the level of a chemical messenger (cAMP), which helps the smooth muscles to relax. Thus, dilates the blood vessels for better blood flow into the heart. It also has blood thinning property.
SIDE EFFECTS :
Atrial arrhythmias (altered heart rate), Hypotension (low blood pressure), Headache.
