Efavirenz is used in the treatment of HIV infection.
USES :
Efavirenz prevents the multiplication of HIV virus in human cells, thereby stopping the HIV virus from producing new viruses.
SIDE EFFECTS :
Headache, Nausea, Dizziness, Vomiting, Increased liver enzymes, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Sleepiness, Abnormal dreams, Anxiety, Itching, Difficulty in paying attention, Rash, Abdominal pain, Diarrhea, Depression.
