INDICATIONS :
Aciclovir Eye Ointment is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex viral infections of the eye, particularly herpes simplex keratitis. Benzalkonium Chloride acts as a preservative to maintain the sterility of the formulation.
USES :
The ointment is applied directly into the affected eye to inhibit the replication of the herpes simplex virus, helping to reduce corneal infection, relieve symptoms, promote healing, and prevent progression of the disease.
SIDE EFFECTS :
Common side effects include temporary burning or stinging sensation, blurred vision immediately after application, mild eye irritation, redness, watering of the eyes, and itching. Rarely, allergic reactions, eyelid swelling, or severe eye irritation may occur.
